UN Concerned Over Taliban’s Conduct

United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, says he is alarmed to see promises made to Afghan women and girls by the Taliban being broken.
He accused the Taliban of breaking promises they made after seizing power in August to uphold the rights of women and girls, including allowing girls to attend school.
About 80-percent of Afghanistan’s economy is informal and dominated by women.
Guterres says the Taliban must adhere to their obligations under the international human rights law.
