The unemployment rate is expected to be higher in the second quarter of 2022.
Economists are predicting that the rate would have gone up to about 35.4-percent between April and June, from 34.5-percent.
Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) is releasing the quarterly labour force survey today.
According to Absa’s Miyelani Maluleke, the speculation of an increase is related to load-shedding and the floods in KwaZulu-Natal.
