US President Elect Joe Biden says the country’s democracy is under unprecedented assault.

This as the Capitol Building is currently under attack by pro-President Donald Trump protesters, as lawmakers gathered to count electoral votes.

Trump has made claims of voter fraud following the rerun of two crucial Senate races in the state of Georgia.

Biden says the scenes of chaos at the Capitol do not represent a true America and that this is is a small number of extremists dedicated to lawlessness.

He adds that this is not dissent, it’s disorder, it borders on sedition, and it must end, now.
