US President Trump Impeached

Written by on 14 January, 2021

US President Donald Trump has become the first president in the country’s history to be impeached twice.

The House of Representatives voted to impeach him on the charge of incitement of insurrection after the president allegedly incited a violent mob to storm the Capitol last week.

The vote was 232-197, with ten House Republicans supporting impeachment. The matter will now go before the Senate.

Trump survived a first impeachment almost exactly a year ago when the Republican-controlled Senate acquitted him of abusing his office to try and get dirt on Biden’s family before the election.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says no one is above the law, including the president of the US.
