President Cyril Ramaphosa has given the green light for the public release of the report into the July anarchy that swept through KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, leaving more than 300 people dead.
Ramaphosa appointed an expert panel to investigate the events that lead to the criminal wave of looting and destruction in those two provinces last year.
The report was published on the Presidency’s website.
Meanwhile the DA says following the release of this report, president Ramaphosa no longer has a reason to delay the dismissal of ministers Bheki Cele and Ayanda Dlodlo.
The report has found that the response of police and intelligence agencies was shockingly slow, inappropriate and insufficient.
DA leader John Steenhuisen says Ramaphosa’s entire cabinet must actually be held accountable.
