Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Secretary General Marshall Dlamini has confirmed that no additional resignation letters have been received following Floyd Shivambu’s departure from the party.

Dlamini has clarified that neither Member of Parliament Mbuyiseni Ndlozi nor any other EFF member will be following the former Deputy President, who has left the party to join the MK Party.

Speaking to journalists in Umhlanga this afternoon, where the party is holding its War Council and Central Command Team meetings, Dlamini addressed speculation surrounding the party’s internal dynamics. These meetings are part of a weekend-long series of activities in the province.

Shivambu’s departure has caused some discontent within the party, leading to divisions among members. EFF Student Command leader Sihle Lonzi recently revealed a conversation in which Shivambu warned him against making public comments about him since his exit from the party.

National spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys also faced criticism on social media after addressing rumours that Ndlozi had resigned from the EFF, which she confirmed were untrue.

Dlamini stated that no EFF members have expressed intentions to leave, nor have there been any whispers of potential resignations. He emphasised that the party is committed to addressing challenges through evidence-based approaches rather than assumptions.

“We run this organisation by trying to get to the scientific evidence and information not through assumptions, that’s why we could’ve said as the national leadership, you know what happened. That’s not we have conducted issues when we’ve got challenges, we come and listen to the branches which are the basic units of this organisation.”said Dlamini

This weekend, the national leadership will be visiting various parts of KwaZulu-Natal, including eThekwini, Zululand, uMgungundlovu, and Amajuba, to convene regional general assemblies ahead of the much-anticipated elective conference in December.
