AmaZulu FC midfielder Bongani Zungu has highlighted the importance of Usuthu collecting 3 points before the first FIFA break of 2025. Usuthu will host high flying TS Galaxy in a Betway Premiership encounter at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday night.

The KZN outfit is winless in two league matches which has seen them drop to seventh position on the Betway Premiership standings. Arthur Zwane’s troops went as high as 5th on the table after back-to-back victories against Magesi and Cape Town City in early March. That run was ended by the two Tshwane giants Supersport United who held Usuthu to a goalless draw, and Mamelodi Sundowns who recorded a 2-0 victory in AmaZulu’s most recent match.

TS Galaxy return to KwaZulu-Natal where they have enjoyed good success this season. Adnan Beganovic’s side outmuscled Lamontville Golden Arrows by 2-0 in their last visit to the province, they also beat Royal AM 3-1 in December last year. The Rockets also got the better of Usuthu in the reverse fixture with a 1-0 victory at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

“We are playing against a team that is currently in good form, they play with a lot of energy we can see that it is going to be a good match of football but also it is going to be a tough game,” said Bongani Zungu speaking to AmaZulu media.

“We also haven’t done badly, we are not in bad form and obviously at home that is where we normally win games and tomorrow we will try our best to win the game. We want to go to the FIFA break with the 3 points, it’s going to be very important. I feel this game is going to be a good watch for South African football but also an important game for us.”
