The World Health Organisation says the coronavirus pandemic is straining health systems in many countries around the world.
There are now more than 730 000 infections globally and almost 35 000 deaths.
WHO’s, Mike Ryan says, countries must continue efforts that have been effective in limiting the number of cases and slowing the spread of the virus.
He adds that lockdowns are essential because it means fewer people will be exposed:
Meanwhile here in South Africa the number of confirmed cases is currently 1326, with three fatalities.
President, Cyril Ramaphosa, says he is concerned however that some people are not taking the virus seriously.
