KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Sihle Zikalala, says government plans aimed at boosting economic growth and job creation were largely affected by COVID-19 regulations, that saw crucial industries and sectors coming a total shut down.

Zikalala had been addressing the Province’s Economic Council Summit 2021 at the Durban ICC.

Business, Labour, Government and Civil Society representatives, have come under one roof for two days to discuss the rollout of KZN’s Economic Recovery and Transformation Plan.

The summit forms part of the provincial government’s effort to mobilise society behind the plan, which seeks to reverse the devastation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Zikalala has called on business to work with government in efforts to stabilise the provincial economy.
