Zikalala calls for an investigation into alleged child abuse

Premier Sihle Zikalala is calling for an urgent investigation into an alleged child abuse and endangerment during an altercation between two KwaDukuza municipal officers and the child’s father.
This incident occurred in Ballito north of Durban where its alleged that the family had contravened the Disaster Management Act by walking outside the regulated time.
In a widely circulated video on social media the officers are seen tugging and pulling at the hysterical child, while trying to arrest him and his father.
Zikalala says under no circumstances should any law official abuse their authority and power.

Meanwhile the premier has applauded all healthcare workers, as well as all other essential workers in the country for demonstrating bravery when fighting the coronavirus.
The premier delivered the keynote address during a virtual 2020 Workers’ Parliament at the Public Works Offices in Mayville Durban.
He says these officials continue to be the bedrock of the health system adding that the country needs them.
