Zikalala says GBV requires a united force

Written by on 31 August, 2020

Premier, Sihle Zikalala, says defeating the scourge of gender based violence will require a united front from families, neighbors, communities, and society at large.

Zikalala, Social Development MEC, Nonhlanhla Khoza, together with Santaco are leading a massive Gender-Based Violence awareness campaign in Inanda, north of Durban today.

SANTACO has joined forces with the provincial Government, to ensure that Gender Based Violence is fought in all corners of the province.

This partnership is aimed at ensuring that all sectors of society, including taxi operators and commuters, also play a meaningful role in the fight against GBV.

Inanda is among many areas in the eThekwini Metro that has recorded several incidents of GBV in the recent past.

Zikalala says keeping quiet about this scourge only makes things worse, adding more suffering to the victims.
