Provincial Premier Sihle Zikalala says the current COVID-19 curve so far appears to have been less severe when compared to the second wave.
The premier has been leading a vaccination programme at the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa in Lamontville and at the Wema Hostel, south of Durban.
This is in line with government’s efforts to intensify the mass vaccination programme in churches and communities.
Zikalala says however, the province’s third wave has been characterised by a fluctuation in the number of new cases, hospitalizations and deaths.
