Zondo Commission Blames Zuma

The State Capture Commission of Inquiry has told the highest court in the land that former president Jacob Zuma sought to exploit his status as head of state by refusing to testify at the commission.
The Commission, chaired by Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, has filed its heads of argument at the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg as it seeks for action to be taken against the former president.
In heads of argument filed at the ConCourt today, the commission says Zuma did not take the opportunity to assure the court that he would appear before it, to answer non-incriminating questions put to him by evidence leaders.
Zuma has steadfastly refused to appear before the commission to answer questions about allegations over his relationship with the controversial Gupta family.
He remains firm on his call for Zondo to recuse himself before he can appear at the commission to give his testimony.
