ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, says the party acknowledges that it has leaders who are complicit in corruption.

Ramaphosa is on the witness stand at the State Capture Commission of Inquiry, in his capacity as ANC president.

Allegations have been made against Ramaphosa, just recently former Eskom CEOs Matshela Koko and Brian Molefe accused the president of influencing decisions in favour of Glencore to disadvantage Eskom.

In his opening statement, the Commission’s Chairperson, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, made it clear that Ramaphosa’s appearance before the commission is not a result of a decision taken recently, but taken in 2018.

Making his opening statement, Ramaphosa says the ANC itself is not corrupt, but there are individuals who are.
