The Constitutional Court has ruled that former President Jacob Zuma must appear before the state capture commission of inquiry.
This after the commission approached the court last year after Zuma refused to cooperate.
Previously Zuma has raised concerns that the commission’s chair, Raymond Zondo, was biased against him and that he was mistreated by the evidence leaders..
Handing down the judgement, Justice Chris Jafta says Zuma does not have the right to remain silent at the commission and he must also pay the commission’s costs in this matter at hand.

Meanwhile, Political analyst Bheki Mngemezulu says he’s shocked that the constitutional court has forced the former president to appear before the Zondo commission of inquiry.
Mngemezulu says the right given to former SAA chair Dudu Myeni to invoke self-incrimination privilege without explanations, must be afforded to Zuma as well.
