State Capture Commission Chairperson Raymond Zondo says he and former president Jacob Zuma were never friends.
In an affidavit, Zuma stated he doesn’t believe he would receive fair treatment from Zondo at the state capture inquiry, citing alleged bias and that the judge fathered a love child with the sister of one of Zuma’s wives, Thobeka Madiba.
Zondo says his interactions with Zuma were from the early 1990s to the time of his appointment as a judge in 1997.
Meanwhile, Zuma’s lawyer Muzi Sikhakhane has threatened to appeal the recusal of chairperson of the state capture commission Raymond Zondo if he dismisses their application.
State Capture Commission of inquiry evidence leader Paul Pretorius says there is no arguable reason why the commission’s chairperson Raymond Zondo must recuse himself.
