DJ Stokie the prolific self-taught music maestro born Setoki Mbatha, has achieved remarkable success with multiple albums and singles reaching gold and platinum status, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the South African music scene. Known for his mastery of Amapiano dance mixes, DJ Stokie has created a distinctive sound that is deep, feel-good, and soulful. His sets have become a staple in the South African music scene, drawing crowds and creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration.

DJ Stokie whose real name is SetokiMbatha started his career in the 90’s from his room in Mzimhlophe. The self-taught music maestro is inspired by the likes of Soweto’s top DJ’s; Mpopo,Fetsi, Ma-Leven, Mahlomola, Mdoo, amongst others. Stokie’s success traces backto 2006 when he became a finalist in the Mad Half Hour, a feature on Joburg’s popular youth station, YFM. The station’s listeners were inspired by his piano fingers and Stokie found himself gigging in townships across Johannesburg.
