Prior to the awards, she posted a picture on social media, captioning it:
“Coming to you live from Rwanda where I’m at for the Trace Awards, I’m honoured to be part of this ceremony and I’m looking forward to it .”
In a conversation with Times Live she said;
Are you planning to release an album any time soon?
Yes but before we release the full project I’m still going to release a few singles because I have more music that I want people to feast on.
How is life as an independent artist, and what are you most grateful for since going independent and launching your own label? How is that new venture?
I won’t lie and say it’s simple. But all I can say is that if you are willing to go an extra mile to learn something, then it’s doable. So it has been a journey but so far everything is on point. One of the artists under Emazulwini Productions whose name is Sykes is currently one of the hottest artists in the country and we have more artists and music coming.

It’s safe to say that, Nomcebo Zikode, really globally represented us at Rwanda’s 2023 Trace Awards!
