The Aristocrats-produced track is Inayah’s first certified song release. It was certified gold in October 2021 after selling 500,000 equivalent units.

“Best Thing” was released as the fourth single from Inayah’s debut album, S.O.L.A.R., released in December 2019. It is among Inayah’s trending songs on Spotify, amassing over 80 million streams on the platform.

Moreover, the official video for “Best Thing” has garnered over 60 million views on YouTube. It was directed by Michelle Parker.

Last year, Inayah returned with Insecure, her most recent project. She issued a few singles ahead of its release, including “Always Something” and “Most Girlz.”

Insecure also had a feature appearance by Oscar-nominated and Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer Dixson. He appeared on “California Taxi” and co-wrote “Always Something.”

Regarding the project, Inayah explained, “Insecure is an emotional rollercoaster of me attempting to sanely navigate my postpartum journey. The project healed me and I hope that it can touch and do the same for anyone listening.”

Inayah is scheduled to perform at the first-ever Honeyland Festival in Sugar Land, Texas, taking place on Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12.

Headlining the festival is Mary J. Blige, with additional performances by Jazmine Sullivan, Miguel, and more.
