Written by on 15 November, 2023

Media personality Minnie Dlamini has finally addressed the ongoing slander she has been subjected to after taking a jab at her ex-boyfriend Itumeleng Khune.

The Honeymoon actress, who shot up the trends list on the social media platform X on Tuesday, told Zimoja that everything she said was said in jest. She said that she and Khune are cool with each other.

People must not take things seriously, it was all a joke- there is no bad blood between him and me,” she said.

Minnie explained that the writer of the show she hosts makes jokes about everyone. The mother-of-one added that even she is not exempt from the jokes.

“No, man, it was just a joke. I have a comedian who writes my opening monologue for the show.

“They make fun of me mostly and what’s going on in society. It’s all in the name of fun and entertainment. No malice at all.”

The show in question is a celebrity lifestyle show called Curated by Tanqueray, wherein Minnie was captured throwing shade at the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper on Sunday’s episode.

In the clip, the former Metro FM presenter is heard enquiring if her goalkeeper ex still plays soccer.

“No, man! Khune doesn’t still play,” Minnie says before a crew member in studio tells her that he played as recently as Saturday during the Soweto Derby. “He STILL plays?” she exclaimed with an expression that shows her disbelief

Khune and Minnie dated from 2011 to 2014. The footballer was rumoured to have paid lobolo for her, however she denied the claims this year.

She went on to marry TV producer Quinton Jones in 2017, with whom she shares a three-year-old son named Netha Makhosini Jones. The couple are currently in the process of a divorce.

On the other hand, Khune went on to date multimillionaire, Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize’s stepdaughter, Sbahle Mpisane. After their break up, he married his wife Siphelele Makhunga in a traditional wedding in 2022. The couple shares two daughters.
