Njabs Zwane makes the pots happen on the episode of Come Dine With Me SA S9

Written by on 30 November, 2023

Nonjabulo Zwane, affectionately known as Njabs Zwane, has not only conquered the airwaves as the host of Gagasi FM’s The Lift Off, but has also showcased her talents in the culinary arena. Yesterday, she took center stage on the popular show, Come Dine With South Africa S9, and emerged as the victorious master chef, claiming the coveted 10K Grand prize.

In each of the 12 weekly episodes, a group of four bold, brave contestants will vie to impress each other with their cooking and hosting skills in an effort to win a R10,000 cash prize. While some of these contestants will cook up a storm with ease, for others throwing a dinner party for a bunch of strangers with cameras rolling is a recipe for total disaster.

The fabulous presenter previously took to Instagram with trailer and caption:

Me to me: “Do something crazy. Invite 3 strangers to your house and cook for them”

Njabs said the show reminds her of her mum.

“I just really wanted to say ‘I did it and I won’. Also, Come Dine With Me was one of my mother and I’s favourite shows. And since her passing, I’ve been immersing myself in things we enjoyed doing together so I can still feel close to her. So being part of the show just made sense,” she said.

The Lift Off host also told Times Live Newspaper:

Prep, prep, prep… Hosting can be extremely chaotic and has a lot of elements to it, so you can easily find yourself overwhelmed and having to spend all your time in the kitchen away from your guests if you don’t prep what you can in advance.”

This week’s episode of Come Dine South Africa provided a different platform for Njabs Zwane to showcase her skills – the kitchen. As she hosted three guests with her culinary expertise, Njabs demonstrated that she is not just a master of the mic but also a culinary maestro. Her winning performance on the show reflected her creativity, passion, and attention to detail in the kitchen.
