Written by on 22 April, 2024

Marking its 10th year, Forbes Africa has announced its ’30 under 30′ list. Amongst a host of outstanding African achievers who made the prestigious cut, shines 22-year-old South African singer and global superstar, Tyla Seethal.

The young artist, who hails from Johannesburg, has had all eyes on her since her song Waves became a TikTok sensation.

Since then, Tyla has skyrocketed to superstardom. Water charted on the Billboard Top 100 in October last year, and in December, Janet Jackson ‘knighted’ Tyla during a live performance.

Celebrating its 10th year, the Forbes Africa 30 under 30 list shines a spotlight on 30 outstanding achievers under the age of 30, from various fields including the business, technology,  creative arts, sports and health across Africa.

Tyla adds to a renowned list of African artists who have made the list in subsequent, including Tems and Sho Madjozi.

It has been 10 years of showcasing tomorrow’s titans and billionaires,” Forbes Africa managing editor Renuka Methil said, as per Music In Africa.

“This list continues to draw great interest from our readers, young and old. And on a continent with the world’s youngest population, it’s more pertinent than ever to unravel these young movers and shakers who will be tomorrow’s global newsmakers,” he added.

Forbes third annual Under 30 Summit Africa will take place from 5 to 8 May in Gaborone, Botswana, with American entertainer Nick Cannon headlining the event.

“Botswana is increasingly recognized worldwide as one of the best destinations for doing business in Africa,” Forbes Under 30 editor Kristin Stoller said.

“With its wealth of resources to entrepreneurs, this is the ideal location to bring our Under 30 community together to network and ignite crucial conversations focused on advancing Africa’s growth and unlocking new ideas in business.”
