We took a moment to ask the man of the moment, S’phokuhle regarding his NXT LVL win: 

How did you know that your future was going to be on radio? 

So, it all began in 2013, that was initially the year I fell in love with radio. Every single day from that year, I made it a mission to tune into Gagasi FM. I grew from just being a fan, to being someone who wants to be part and parcel of the radio station. That’s when I knew that my future was going to be on the airwaves.

How do you feel, knowing that you are the winner of the Gagasi FM Rising Star Presenter Search? 

I feel like I am going to wake up from the weirdest dream. I believe up until this day, it still feels so unreal, but in all honesty, I feel like my hard work has finally paid off and I feel like the chosen one.

Who would you say, was your motivation towards having a career within the broadcasting industry?

What is different about S’phokuhle and what can people look forward to on your second Umsindo Takeover show as the co-host this Saturday? 

The difference with S’phokkuhle is that he is all about authenticity. I am self-taught, and therefore everything he touches, he leaves his utmost signature. People can expect the greatest on-air experience with S’phokuhle Luthuli.  

What advice would you give all radio enthusiasts who wish to embark on a career in radio? 

First things first, find your voice, find your space, be you, be unique, give yourself time to study radio and be passionate about it. I believe from there everything will fall into place.
