The verdict on whether the Umkhonto WeSizwe Party can continue using its current logo and name will be heard today at the High Court in Durban.

This as the ANC’s trademark matter returns for ruling following arguments from both parties.

The ANC is accusing the MK Party of violating the Trademark Act by using the name and logo similar to their disbanded military wing.

The party believes the use of the trademark will result in voter confusion in the May elections and through this case they protecting the legacy of what was once their wing.

At the same time, Advocate Dali Mpofu representing the MK Party argues that the Electoral Court should be the one handling this matter.
