Durban, South Africa — September 25, 2025 — One of South Africa’s most celebrated house music duos, Liquideep, has officially reunited after 11 years apart. The announcement was made on Thursday, September 25th, via the duo’s social media platforms, where they posted the simple but powerful message: “We missed you too.”
Comprised of Ziyon (Jonathan Hamilton), singer, songwriter, and producer, and Ryzor (Thabo Shokgolo), DJ and producer, Liquideep first joined forces in 2007, united by a shared love for melodically rich, hook-driven electronic music. Together, they redefined the house music soundscape in South Africa and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on global dance floors.
Their breakout moment came in 2009 with the release of “Fairytale”, a track that not only dominated local charts but also earned widespread continental acclaim. Over the years, Liquideep cemented their status as one of the greatest house duos of their generation, with hit singles such as:
- Fairytale
- Alone
- Rise Again
- BBM
- Something About You
The duo’s artistry garnered them a host of accolades, including Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Group of the Year, and Most Downloaded Song, alongside recognition for international airplay in territories as diverse as Portugal, Europe, South America, and the USA.
Despite their global rise, Liquideep announced their split in 2014, leaving fans to speculate on the reasons behind their departure from the spotlight. Ziyon went on to pursue a successful solo career, releasing his award-winning EP Clear Skies in 2018, while Ryzor continued producing and curating his sound behind the decks.

Now, in 2025, the duo is ready to write their next chapter. Their first official performance as a reunited act will take place at an annual event in Bloemfontein, marking their first return to the city since 2012 and their first performance anywhere in South Africa since 2014.
With their velvet-smooth anthems and unrivalled synergy, Liquideep’s comeback performance promises to rekindle the magic that once defined an era of South African nightlife and music culture. Fans can expect a show that honours their timeless classics while teasing what’s next for the iconic duo.
The return of Liquideep is more than a reunion — it is the revival of a sound and spirit that continues to shape the heartbeat of South African house music.
