1. Congratulations on the release of your latest offering, “Mbalenhle’s Prayer.” Can you share the significance behind this song and what it means to you personally?
“Mbalenhle’s Prayer” is more than just a song; it’s a conversation with God. It reflects a very personal season of my life when prayer was the only thing keeping me grounded. The song speaks about faith, surrender, and trusting God even when things don’t make sense. It’s a reminder that even in uncertainty, God is still writing your story. It also reminds me of my grandmother and how she instilled the power of prayer in me. Being able to blend dance and spirituality in one song makes it even more special.
2. You are currently fully immersed in your musical journey. What inspires the sound and message of the music you are releasing in this season of your life?
My music often reflects the times and events happening in my life. Sometimes, when you create something truly meaningful, it simply feels right to release it.
In this season, I’m inspired by growth, healing, and purpose. I’ve experienced moments of doubt, pressure, and even feeling overlooked, but I’ve also experienced God’s grace through it all. The music I’m releasing now is very intentional. It’s honest, spiritual, and rooted in hope. I want my sound to reflect my journey and where I am emotionally and spiritually.
3. What would you like your supporters and listeners to take away from this release?
I want listeners to walk away feeling strengthened. I want someone who feels tired or discouraged to listen and think, “If she held on, I can too.” This song is about resilience. It’s about understanding that delays are not denials. Most importantly, I want people to reconnect with prayer and remember that God has not forgotten them.
4. You collaborated with Veersa, Smanga, and Soultaker Mthathi on this project. What made them the right collaborators for “Mbalenhle’s Prayer”?
For this spiritual song, I needed voices that were authentic and raw. Veersa, Smanga, and Soultaker Mthathi each embodied that in different ways. With the help of my producers, ChildDaDj and Moreki, we were able to capture that sound beautifully and bring the vision to life.
5. You consistently deliver excellence in your work. What can your supporters expect from you in the coming months?
I’m currently working on an EP.
6. Having successfully transitioned from acting into the music space, who are the top five dream artists you would love to collaborate with on your next project?
I would love to collaborate with Thato Hatsi, Nkosazane Daughter, Jazzworx, Thukuthela, and Sjava, to name a few. There are a number of artists I admire, and I’m hopeful that some of these collaborations will come to life on the EP.
