Defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking equal Kaizer Chiefs’ record for the most consecutive wins at the start of the season when they welcome Stellenbosch FC at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Attridgeville on Wednesday night. The Brazilians will be searching for their eight league win of the season, which will see them equal a record that was set by Chiefs in the 2014/15 season when they won their first eight matches on their way to capturing the league title, which happens to be the last piece of silverware Amakhosi won. Sundowns have already beaten Sekhukhune United, Kaizer Chiefs, Lamontville Golden Arrows, Chippa United, Richards Bay FC, Polokwane City and Orlando Pirates this season.

Amakhosi will also be in action on Wednesday night as they will welcome Sekhukhune United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Both matches are set to kick-off at 19:30
