At its heart, SEBENZA is an empowering anthem – particularly for women. It calls on women to take control of their lives, pursue financial independence, and stand firmly in their purpose. With an unapologetic message and infectious energy, the song underscores a powerful reality: no one is coming to save you, success must be claimed through action, resilience, and self-belief.

“This song is about standing up and standing on business,” says Eva Modika. “It’s about women recognizing their worth, putting in the work, and securing the bag. The time is now.”

Known for her dynamic presence and entrepreneurial drive, Eva Modika continues to evolve as a multifaceted creative. With SEBENZA, she not only expands her brand into music but also delivers a message that is both motivating and culturally relevant.

“Music has always been a quiet but constant part of my life, even when people only knew me from what they saw on screen. I didn’t rush my journey as a DJ because I wanted to truly understand and respect the craft, and I’m approaching my music the same way.

The single will be available on all major streaming platforms – https://ffm.to/k482nwk

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

What inspired your debut single “Sebenza”?
“Sebenza” literally means “work” in isiZulu, and that’s the energy. I was tired of seeing women wait for permission to win. I’ve been in rooms where we’re told to dim our light or depend on someone else’ timeline. This track is me saying: no more. If you want the bag, the respect, the future, you have to move for it. I spent two years building this record because I wanted my first statement to mean something. Not just vibes

How would you describe the sound of the track?  I
t’s Afrohouse at its core, but we laced it with Three-Step so it hits differently on the dance floor. You’ll hear the drums and soul that make it proudly South African, but the structure and bounce are built for global playlists. The result is warm and aggressive in the best way.

What message do you want women to take from “Sebenza”?
Stop waiting to be rescued. Your rent, your dreams, your legacy, that’s on you. “Sebenza” is a reminder that self-belief without action is just a wish. I want every woman who hears it to feel that switch flip: from hoping to doing. Secure your future, move with purpose, and don’t apologize for wanting more.
