Gagasi FM Sports specialist Mike Makaab has given an update on Manqoba Mgqithi’s future at Mamelodi Sundowns as he approaches the end of his contract at the reigning DSTV Premiership champions. Mgqithi’s future at Masandawana has been a hot topic in South African football, with speculations linking him with a move away from Chloorkop where he has spent over a decade in various coaching roles.

Speaking on Extratime on Gagasi FM Mgqithi’s agent Mike Makaab has confirmed the KZN born coach has agreed a deal in principle to remain at Mamelodi Sundowns “for some time”

“Manqoba Mgqithi in principle, we have agreed that he will continue at Sundowns, hoping that the finer details will be ironed out within the next few weeks,” said Makaab.

“Football is strange, it’s like politics you never know which way the wind is going to blow, however all things being equal Manqoba should be at Mamelodi Sundowns for some time still.”
