By welcoming him into our lineup, we are confident in his ability to make a positive impact both within and outside of the radio industry.
With a diploma in drama and production, and skills in voice-over, scriptwriting, and directing, KZN is in for a treat.
We had a chat with Ngcebo and this is what he had to say:
1. Firstly, how does it feel to officially join the undisputed, #1 Regional Commercial Radio station in South Africa?
You know how in every netflix teen high school show you always find different groups of kids, you get the Nerds, The cheerleaders, the Sport Jocks etc. Now being part of SA’s number 1 Regional Commercial Radio Station, feels like being a part of the cool and popular kid’s squad. The gang everyone envy’s and would kill to be a part of.
2. What inspired you to pursue a career in radio?
I am inspired by the possibility to change lives for the better, to help them see the world in a better way.
3. What is the most exciting part about joining Gagasi FM
Has to be the warmth you feel as you enter. It’s that sense of comfort and assurance you get knowing that everyone has your back. Also, the amount of growth I’ll experience. Gagasi FM is all about growing, caring and nurturing talent.
4. Let’s throwback to the #GFMRisingStar presenter search, can you share a memorable experience or story related to this journey?
My most memorable part of the rising star presenter search has to be, the day we got to co-host during the prime time slot and I got to host my favorite show, the Gagasi FM drive. I loved it because, it gave me the platform for me to show KZN my talent and what I bring to the table. Also, I am a huge fan of Zisto and Heazy, so being given the opportunity to co-host with them was like a dream come true.
5. As an official on-air Gagasi FM presenter, what will you do to stay motivated and productive?
3 words, Meditate, Meditate, Meditate. Meditation keeps me calm and productive. Our lives get busy all the time, so I trust meditation to keep me calm and level headed, to give the listener the best of what I have to offer.
6. What are your BEST key qualities or skills which you know you excel in?
One if my best qualities related to radio, has to be good audience engagement, which is good and will ensure the success of the show and the station at large.
7. The biggest question is, what can KZN look forward to in terms of your show, what are you bringing to the table?
Bucket loads of madness, good music, good vibes and loads of fun. 3 hours will feel like 30 minutes with the amount of fun one can expect. As a cherry on top we’ll top things off with spicy topics.
8. What does your creative process look like?
Through research and knowing who my audience is and what they need, then serving them that.
9. Any last words for your FANS, listeners who are highly anticipating your show?
The Massive Weekend is very inclusive. Weather you’re at work, at home or on your way to or from groove everyone gets a piece of the pie.
Congratulations are in order for Ngcebo, and we cannot wait to see him grow within our organization. So, here’s to izinja eGame, the leaders of the pack – a radio station that not only entertains, but also empowers, connects, and uplifts the people of KZN.
