Boyz Records proudly presents “Amahebezi,” the brand-new Gqom single from rising KwaZulu-Natal sensation Solan Lo, out now on all major digital streaming platforms.
“Amahebezi” is pure Gqom energy, built around a high-energy and trendy slogan that is deeply appreciated within Gqom culture. With its hard-hitting log drums, infectious chants and dancefloor-ready bounce, the track is set to dominate sound systems, taxis and clubs.
The single came to life four months ago when Solan Lo conceptualised the idea and brought in hitmaker Goldmax to help bring it to fruition. He is joined by a powerhouse collective featuring Sunshine, Woza Bakzin, Ornica Bellz and Moh&Dalee, adding further energy and character to the track.
For Solan Lo, collaboration is nothing new. “I started working as a collective five years ago. I’ve worked with many artists in the industry before,” he says.
DJ Solan Lo is a DJ and producer from Howick who has become known as a sound designer extraordinaire in Durban — a vibe and mood setter. Coming from a small village and growing up with limited opportunities, he developed a strong determination to succeed, particularly within the music industry.
Fueled by a deep passion for production and DJing, Solan Lo is steadily carving out his name within the Gqom scene and building a reputation for his distinctive approach to sound.
Reflecting on his experience working under DJ Tira’s Afrotainment, Solan Lo says:
“Working at Afrotainment has been a very good experience, mostly because it has given me major experience in the industry, especially meeting other artists, sharing ideas, and teamwork. “Amahebezi” is being released as a standalone single, but fans can expect more from Solan Lo. The artist confirms that he is currently working on a bigger project expected to arrive in 2027.
Speaking about what he wants audiences to know about him, Solan Lo says: “I have a great personality, I love music and performing in big events. I believe music makes the world go around.”
