Lamontville Golden Arrows have announced the signing of Steve Komphela as the head coach of the club. This comes after a poor run of results which saw the club lose eleven consecutive matches in all competitions, under Mabhuti Khenyeza, which has seen the KZN club drop out of the top 10 in the Dstv Premiership. Komphela left Moroka Swallows at the turn of the year as he spent less than a season at the cash-strapped Dube birds. He returns for his second stint at Abafana besithende after spending time at the club between 2018 and 2020. Khenyeza has been demoted to the role of assistant coach, and will work alongside Musa Bilankulu to assist Komphela.
Komphela’s first match at the helm will an away fixture at Polokwane City on Sunday 10 March, 15:30.
