Former Springboks winger Bryan Habana says we can expect a great game of rugby in the 2023 Rugby World Cup final on Saturday, 28 October in France.
New Zealand and South Africa will square off in the 2023 Rugby World Cup final at Stade de France on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Twenty teams came into the tournament, and now only two remain to battle for the Webb Ellis Cup and also take the outright lead as the only nation in the world to have lifted the coveted trophy on four separate occasions.
New Zealand’s only defeat in a final came at the hands of South Africa in Johannesburg in 1995 when the underdog Boks upset the Jonah Lomu-lead All Blacks in extra-time.
Speaking to Gagasi FM Extra Time Show, Habana says the Springboks will utilise the Bomb Squad, packing their bench with forwards in a 7-1 split for Saturday’s final. Apart from Pollard, halfback Faf de Klerk was also promoted from the reserves. This is the same halves combination that started in South Africa’s win over England in the 2019 final.
