Springboks Flyhalf Faf de Klerk says the Boks preparation will focus on nullifying the entire French team, not only their influential captain Antoine Dupont who could feature in their Rugby World Cup quarterfinal clash at the Stade de France on Sunday evening. The French team announced on Monday that the highly rated number 9 has been given the green light to resume training, after fracturing his cheekbone in their Pool A encounter against Namibia. Dupont missed France’s final Pool match against Italy which they won comfortably by 60-7.
Dupont is regarded by many as a generational talent and arguably the best player in world Rugby at the moment, and his return in the quarterfinal would be a huge boost for Le Blues, and equally a tough challenge for the defending world champions the Springboks, who will be returning to the venue where they won their second world title in 2007. De Klerk says it is always great to play against one of the best players in the world, but the Boks will be preparing to deal with the threat of the entire French team, not only their captain.
