Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has called on South Africans to show their powerful support to the Proteas men’s team in their on-going Cricket World cup campaign in India. Kolisi spoke at the Springboks arrival press conference at the OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday. The Boks were greeted by hundreds of South Africans on their arrival in Johannesburg, and enjoyed the support of millions of fans from around the country as they successfully defended their Webb Ellis trophy in France.
The Proteas are deep into their ICC Cricket World Cup campaign, and have had an impressive showing at the tournament so far with five wins in their six Pool matches so far. Rob Walter’s men need just one win in their remaining three fixtures to book their spot in the play-off stages of the tournament. Boks captain Siya Kolisi says his team received a lot of love and support from the Proteas during their Rugby World Cup campaign, and has called on the millions of South Africans who supported them in France to shift all their focus to the Proteas team, who are chasing their first ever World Cup title.
