Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Blade Nzimande says the National Development Plan commits the government to grow technical and vocational training with specific emphasis on its size, efficiency, and functional effectiveness.

The minister has set a target of 2.8 million technical and vocational education and training students by 2030.

Nzimande says this is part of the government’s drive to encourage the youth to consider enrolment at TVET colleges.
