Proteas Women head coach Hilton Moreeng has expressed a lot of optmisim and pride about his teams performances at the on-going multi-format tour against Australia, but believes they can do better in getting positive results. The The Proteas suffered a 2-1 T20 series loss against the reigning World Champions, but were able to make history by recording their first ever win against Australia in any format, with an impressive 6 wickets victory in the second T20 International in Manuka.
South Africa will be looking to improve on their performances when they turn their attention to the ODI series that will be played between 3-10 February. Speaking to CSA Media Moreeng says he was happy with the competitiveness that his team showed against the current holders of T20 and ODI World Cups, and is hoping for improved results for his team in the ODI series.
““Overall, there’s been very good moments in the last three games. The players have gone out there, very competitive, put their best foot forward and stayed competitive. We can see the growth from the team – the way we’re playing – it’s a team that is just on the up. We take a lot of learnings from that going into the next series. We’re very happy with what we’ve seen regarding the performance but not the end result,”.
