Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber has thanked South Africans for inspiring them to overcome New Zealand 12-11 in the Rugby World Cup final. The Springoks recorded a third successive nail-biting one-point victory in the playoffs on their way to a record-breaking fourth Rugby World Cup title.
The game was marked by a slew of red and yellow cards and the All Blacks lost their captain Sam Cane halfway through the first half to a yellow, which was later upgraded to a red card.
Springboks captain Siya Kolisi was also shown a yellow card early in the second half. Nienaber says the 12-11 victory was for all their fans and for South Africa.
