Hollywoodbets Dolphins assistant coach Quinton friend believes his troops are up for the challenge that will be posed by Western Province when they clash in the final round of the CSA 4-day domestic series at Newlands in Cape Town from 21-24 February. The Durban side is fresh from a confidence-boosting 10 wickets thrashing of the North West Dragons in Potchefstroom, which sent them to the top of the 4-Day log with one round of action to go.

Quinton Friend gave full credit to the players for their brilliant display to thrash the Dragons by 10 wickets away from home.

“I am extremely proud of how these guys went over the last couple of days and I said to these guys this win is purely on you guys, you really stepped up to the plate these four days.”

The assistant coach highlighted the importance of their match against Western Province, and believes the team is completely up for the challenge as they look to secure their place in the final to defend their 4-day crown.

“It’s fantastic that we find ourselves on top of the log at the end of the second last round of the competition. We have got a big encounter against Western Province again, we are really up for the fight again next week. We know we are gonna get challenged against Western Province, it’s a really good outfit. The guys are really looking forward to stepping up again next week.”

The Dolphins final Pool match against Western Province will take place at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town from Wednesday.
