Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro says he is not worried about the Bucaneers recent poor form against their arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs as they approach the much anticipated Soweto derby in the DSTV Premiership on Saturday at the FNB Stadium. The two Soweto giants will go into this encounter with some winning momentum, Pirates overcame the challenge of Sekhukhune United with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night, while Chiefs gave new coach Cavin Johnson his first taste of victory as Interim boss with a 3-2 victory over bottom side Cape Town Spurs.

Pirates have a poor league record against their rivals in recent matches having lost the last five league Soweto derbies in a row, but they do hold the bragging rights from the last meeting between two sides, beating Amakhosi 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup semifinals last season. The Pirates mentor says he is not worried about his sides recent record in the league and the Soweto derby, but wants to focus more on improving the football they play in big matches.

The Soweto derby will take place at the FNB Stadium on Saturday 11 November 2023. Kick-off 15:30
