Proteas white-ball coach Rob Walter says his boys have been inspired by the Springboks in their latest Rugby World Cup success, as they continue their own fight in India for the ICC Cricket World Cup. The Springboks edged New Zealand 12-11 in the Rugby World Cup final on Sunday night, to successfully defend their title which was a record fourth win of the Webb Ellis Trophy. The Proteas have had a positive start to their quest of a first world title in history, winning five of their six matches in the Pool stages of the tournament.

Ironically South Africa will also face a New Zealand test in their next World Cup fixture on Wednesday, before they face tournament hosts India on Sunday and close off their Pool stage matches against Afghanistan on 10 November. South Africa need to win at least one of their remaining three fixtures to make it through to the play-offs, one step closer to their world cup dream. Rob Walter says his boys are inspired by the levels that the Boks have reached in their global success.
