Banyana Banyana will wait until the last minute to decide on whether captain Refiloe Jane will feature in their final group match against Italy on Wednesday. That is according to coach Desiree Ellis who spoke at a pre-match press conference ahead of the must win game for South Africa who will be looking to advance to the knock out stages of the women’s World Cup for the first time.

Jane was stretchered off in the first half of South Africa’s 2-2 draw against Argentina, after taking a knock on the ankle. Banyana team Doctor Nthabiseng Maesela has confirmed the injury to be a minor soft tissue injury and the skipper should be expected back on the field soon.

The entire country has been sweating over the fitness of the Italy based player, but coach Ellis says they will wait until the last minute to decide on Jane’s availability for their final group match.
