Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus has confirmed that double World Cup winning captain Siya Kolisi will continue in his role as Springbok captain for the Castle Lager Incoming Series against Ireland. There was speculation that Kolisi, who plays for French club Racing 92, was going to be ousted as skipper with Erasmus looking to pick a locally based captain, but the Bok coach has since ended the speculation.

South Africa will face Ireland in two test matches, starting on 6 July at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria and conclude at the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium in Durban on 13 July. They will close off the incoming series with a clash against Portugal at the Toyota Stadium in Blomfontein on 20 July.

“Siya will be captain. Siya will wear the No 6 jersey. Siya has got no injury. Siya is not fat. And, Siya is not transparent,” Erasmus said in a very short answer speaking to reporters on Wednesday.
