Gagasi FM Sports specialist Mike Makaab has provided an update on the future of Sipho Mbule after the talented midfielder endured a tough season at Sekhukhune United. Mbule, 27, joined Babina Noko at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
The former Supersport United star has made a total of 17 appearances in all competitions for the Limpopo-based side, netting two goals and getting three assists to his name.
Mbule has since fallen out of favour with Babina Noko in recent months with reported disciplinary issues, that resulted in him being sent back to his parent club. His last appearance for Sekhukhune United was against TS Galaxy towards the end of April, and he subsequently missed the final four matches of the season.
Mbule joined Sundowns from cross town rivals Supersport United in 2022, on a three-year deal with an option to extend. Makaab, who is Mbule’s agent, says Mamelodi Sundowns have until the end of May to make a decision on Mbule’s future by either exercising the option to extend or parting ways with the player.

“Mamelodi Sundowns have until the end of May to exercise their option, if they don’t exercise the option then Sipho is a free agent and we will then look at a number of possibilities for him,” said Makaab, speaking on Extratime on Gagasi FM.
“I am not concerned, he’s a talented player. Yes, of course he has his problems we don’t have to beat about the bush with that but he’s a talented football player. I am convinced that he’s going to put his best foot forward,” Makaab added.
“He has no option, if Mamelodi Sundowns take the option then we have to look at other means of trying to move him, if both him and the club are not keen to continue their relationship. It’s never easy but we gonna have to, as we have done in the past, we gonna have to take this case carefully, examine all of the possibilities and then hopefully guide and assist Sipho in making the right decision for his future.”
