Mashatile Says Shortage Of Qualified Teachers Needs To Be Addressed

Deputy President Paul Mashatile says the shortage of qualified and motivated teachers is not only a concern to South Africa, it is also a global concern.

Mashatile was speaking at the 14th Policy Dialogue Forum of the International Task Force on Teachers for Education in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The Task Force is a global platform for education stakeholders that aims to foster advocacy, knowledge exchange, peer learning, and monitoring progress towards Sustainable Development Goal Four on quality education.

Mashatile says an urgent solution to the shortage of qualified teachers is needed.
