Higher Education, Minister Blade Nzimande says the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) applications are now officially open.
Nzimande has been briefing the media on the launch of the NSFAS 2024 application season.
The Minister says the aim of the NSFAS fund is to help students from poor households and those who can’t afford to pay for tertiary education.
Nzimande says as a department, they will no longer give allowance money for students to Universities, but students will continue receiving their funds directly from the NSFAS fund.
