Orlando Pirates has announced the appointment of a new club captain ahead of the 2025/26 PSL season. This comes after long-serving captain Innocent Maela announced his retirement from the game at the end of the last season.
Defender Nkosinathi Sibisi has received the nod to take over the captain’s armband and lead Abdelslam Oudaddou’s team in the new season. The news of Sibisi’s appointment comes just hours after he was crowned the 2024/25 Betway Premiership defender of the season at the annual PSL awards. Sibisi will head the leadership group alongside vice-captains Tapelo Xoki and Mbekezeli Mbokazi, a trio that will lead the Bucaneers from the back.
