South Africa Remains On High Alert Of Possible Imported Cholera Cases.

The Department of Health has urged South Africans to remain on high alert for possible imported cholera cases from neighbouring Zimbabwe, encouraging people to ensure their water sources are clean.

The neighbouring country is currently battling an outbreak of the disease which has so far claimed over 200 lives.

Two cases have already been confirmed in SA, after tests showed active cases in Limpopo.

Health spokesperson, Foster Mohale says the department, in collaboration with the Border Management Authority, has intensified health screening at the Beitbridge border post, linking South Africa and Zimbabwe
to mitigate against the imported cholera cases.

Cholera symptoms include severe diarrhoea, vomiting, and dehydration.
