AmaZulu FC head coach Arthur Zwane has emphasized the importance of getting maximum points in their “six pointer” league clash against Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Mpumalanga stadium on Saturday. Usuthu will head into this encounter wounded after they went down to a 1-0 defeat against Stellenbosch FC in their previous Betway Premiership encounter. The KZN outfit has won just one of the last 6 league fixtures, a run that has seen their top 8 hopes fall into jeopardy with four league matches to go.

Abafana besithende have also not enjoyed much success in recent times with just two wins from their previous 5 league outings. The KZN rivals will meet for the second time this season, having played a goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in the reverse league fixture.

“These games they don’t come easy, for us it is more like a 6-pointer, we know the importance of getting maximum points,” Zwane said to AmaZulu FC media.

“I wouldn’t want to repeat myself in terms of where we are and where we are supposed to be. We had ample time and enough time to actually, you know, consolidate and put ourselves in a better position for now in the log. Dropping points in 3 games in a row that has put us under pressure. So we put ourselves in this situation like we did in the past, we gonna have to take ourselves out. The only opportunity we have is to make sure that we go to Hammersdale, regardless of whether the pitch will be playable or not. The important thing is that we go there with one thing in mind and that we want to grind the results.”
