KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, has pleaded with local shops to temporarily halt the sale of alcohol for the duration of iNkosi uMangosuthu Buthelezi’s Funeral set to take place today.

Mkwanazi has been speaking on the state of readiness ahead of Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s funeral.

This as 16 buses have been allocated to Durban hostels, including Dalton, Glebelands, 17 Hostel, Wema, and KK to transport mourners to Ulundi complex grounds where the funeral will take place.

Traditional spears and shields will be allowed, but no firearms are permitted and drones will not be allowed.

Mkwanazi says that attendees are urged to conduct themselves responsibly the public will be easy to maintain if the sale of alcohol is prohibited.
